Agricultural products’ regionalization

In November, 2014 the Government of Albania presented the Map of products’ regionalization. The Map is a form of organization and support for agriculture, applied for the first time in Albania.
Through this map the Government suggests the farmers on what they should plant based on the terrain, conditions and climate of their area, providing them support through national subsidy schemes.
Prime Minister Rama said during the meeting where this initiative was presented, that this map will help surpassing one of the main problems of the Albanian agriculture, the fragmentation of the parcels.
The Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti said that the organization of the agricultural products through the regionalization, builds a transparent relationship between the government and the farmers, by defining priorities and the way they will be supported.
