Last year, consumer spending for citrus had a direct contribution of 1.7% in the budget dedicated to food and non-alcoholic drinks.
According to data published by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), the largest contribution within this category remains costs for oranges and mandarins, namely around 50% of the overall expenditure.
According to ATA, even the vegetable yield scored a rise. The vegetable production was 1.03 million tons from 950,000 metric tons that was last year, marking an annual increase of 8.4%.
Citrus production last year was 30,000 tons, marking an increase of 42.8% compared with a year ago. The highest level of citrus production was achieved in the District of Vlora, in the Saranda and Konispol region with 15,668 metric tons.
