The Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship hosted on Monday the first meeting of the Committee for Assessment of imports’ safeguard measures.

This committee, in pursuit of the Council of Ministers’ decision, is chaired by minister Milva Ekonomi and consists of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Foreign Affairs, Union of the Chambers of Trade and Industry as well as representatives of the customs directorate.

The first gathering concerned the constitution of this committee and also set the date and agenda for the next meeting which will focus on issues related to export/import.

The committee is aimed at addressing a number of issues arising in the field of export/import between our country and others as well as adopting measures to safeguard domestic manufacturing industry from unfair practices of international trade through dumping or subsidized imports. Source: ATA
