The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Waters Management, held on Wednesday “The Albanian Wine Festival”, an activity in the framework of Agriculture Months dedicated to promotion of Albanian products, reports the Albanian Telegraphic Agency ATA.
In attendance of this activity were Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, representatives of different wineries, other Albanian companies, as well as donors and representatives of Diplomatic Corps in Tirana.
In his speech, minister Panariti, said: “ Albania is a country which can compete for the quality of its agricultural products and not for quantity, leaving it to countries of vast areas. Albanian agriculture has seen a big boom during this year, also due to quality. One of these products is Albanian wine, which is exported to many countries.”
The closing ceremony of Albanian Wine Festival was capped by an awarding ceremony for the best 2016 wine.
In single white variety, Bejko winery, Permet, got the first award for Debina wine, “Skenderbeu” winery the second award for “Doruntina” wine and the third award went to “Kallmeti” winery for the “Kallmeti” wine.
In single red variety, the first award went to “Duka” winery for Caberner Sauvignon wine, the second award went to Zadrima winery, Shkoder with Kallmet wine and the third award went to “Rilindja” winery Korce with “Cabernet” wine.
For old wine, the first award went to Kokomani winery for the variety “Shen Mhill”, the second to Nurellai winery, Berat and the third to Kallmeti, Lezhe. For Rose wine, the special award was given to “Skenderbeu” winery .
